Jewelry/Metalwork Class # M001 Metalsmithing 101 Level: Basic Prerequisite: None  If you are curious about metalwork and have thought about trying it but have no idea where your start – this is the class for you. You will be introduced to the materials and tools used in making sterling silver jewelry and well as have a chance to try out some simple techniques. This class is So Non-Intimidating – it’s just lots of fun. Materials Included: Practice metal. Project Retail Value: N/A Instructor: Sharon Jeter Class Fee: $60.00 Saturday November 10th 10:00 AM - Noon OR  Monday November 19th 7:00 - 9:00 PM Class Limited to 5 Students   Class # M002 Come Into the Cold Level: Basic Metalwork Prerequisite: None In this class you will learn the basics of cutting and shaping metal in the process of completing a pendent from metal sheet and wire. Cold connection tecnniques allow us to connect elements of metal into a compled piece without the use of soldering with a torch. You will learn how to cut, shap, finish and texturize metal as well as a variety of connection techniques including riviting, tabs and sewing. A tool list will be provided by your instructor prior to your first class. Materials Included: All practice and project materials - silver,brass and copper sheet and wire. You will learn about a selection of torches and gasses, peripheral tools needed for a soldering shop, how to choose and use solder, as well as basic soldering techniques for a variety of joins. You will also learn how to prepare your metal for soldering and how to clean it. A tool list will be provided by your instructor prior to your first class. Materials Included: Practice and project metal sheet and wire, solder, flux, etc. Focus Project: Pendent Project Retail Value:  $60.00 Instructor: Sharon Jeter Class Fee: $168.00 Two Class Sessions: Monday February 4th and 11th 6:30 - 9:00 PM Class Limited to 3 Students Class# M004 Cabochon Stone Setting Level: Intermediate Prerequisite: Soldering Basics or Equivalent In this class you will learn how to make a bezel setting and the basics of stone selection and setting. You will then incorporate your stone into a pendent that you can add to a chain or beads. A tool list will be provided by your instructor prior to your first class.
